Obituary of Ann Restifo
Ann Restifo, age 91, of Trumbull and formerly of New York, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025 in the comfort of her home. Born on March 14, 1934 in Sicily, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Carmelo and Filippa Saglimbeni Restifo.
At the age of 2, Ann immigrated to the United States with her family. The family lived first in New York City, then Harlem and also the Bronx for many years. Ann was a dedicated and valued administrative assistant for the Texaco Corporation and Mobil Oil for many years. When the company relocated to Texas, she was asked to follow and upon her retirement, Ann had over 25 years of dedicated service.
She enjoyed traveling with her family and many friends, around the world and especially to her home country of Italy. She cherished time spent with all of her family members and spoiled each and every one of her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ann loved having everyone together and the memories they created will forever live in the hearts of all who loved her. She was a selfless soul who always put others first, tirelessly helping anyone in need with compassion and grace, often placing her own needs last.
Survivors include her two loving sisters, Josephine Valenti and Giovanna Gagliardo and her husband Leonard, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Restifo; nine cherished nieces and nephews, who Ann loved as it they were her own children, Carl Restifo, Philip Restifo and partner Regina, Craig Restifo and his wife Nicole, Salvatore Restifo and partner Valerie, Domenica Rinaldi and her husband Michael Sr., Paul Valenti and his wife Chris, Frank Valenti and his wife Vikki, Maria Gagliardo, Daniel Gagliardo and wife Michele as well as 11 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Philip Restifo, and Carmelo Restifo and his wife Dolores, two sisters, Venera Chillemi and her husband Agatino and her twin sister, Rose Restifo, brother-in-law, Nunzio Valenti and a nephew, Daniel Chillemi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611. Entombment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery, 280-284 Secor Rd., Hartsdale, New York. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
