Obituary of Amy L. Alfano
Amy L. (Santorelli) Alfano, age 49, of Stratford, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Amy was the beloved mother of her three amazing sons Anthony, Christopher and Matthew Alfano. She was the daughter of Linda (Dalmaso), stepdaughter of Jerry Beauchamp, daughter of the late Gary Santorelli and loving sister Nicole Santorelli. Amy is also survived by her former husband, Steven Alfano, an uncle, David Dalmaso (Gail), an aunt Eileen Sgarlata (Robert) as well as many cousins and dear friends.
Amy received her bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College and her master’s degree from Sacred Heart University. She was a 5th grade teacher at Jane Ryan Elementary and a cherished member of the school community. Amy served as a dedicated educator in Trumbull Public Schools for 24 years. She also taught at several other elementary schools during this time including Booth Hill, Frenchtown and Middlebrook where she developed many longstanding relationships with students, families and coworkers. She was dedicated to her profession and admired by all her students who looked up to her. She was regarded as an excellent teacher by her colleagues and was awarded Teacher of The Year at Middlebrook.
Amy’s summer passion was spending time boating on Long Island Sound with her family. Many weekends were spent on their mooring in Port Jefferson Harbor with friends and family. There were also weeks cruising Long Island Sound especially her favorite place, Block Island. She was always up for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming and fishing with her sons. In addition, she held interests in gardening, concerts, traveling on vacations with family, and was an avid dog lover.
Above all her enjoyments, her greatest love was that of her boys and cherished the memories of all the time they spent together. Amy will always be remembered for the love and affection she showed family, friends and the children she taught.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Amy’s Life on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Woodruff Hall at Black Rock Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to organizations of your preference supporting the education of children such as NoKidHungry, AdoptAClassroom, SaveTheChildren to name a few.
