I have known Truman since I was 14 years old when he and Elizabeth started dating. It was obvious this was a serious relationship from day one, and it was, as I lasted almost 63 years. They raised three beautiful and loving children, who are not only siblings, but best friends. When Truman became part of our family, he was driving an old car with bright red flames painted on the front bumpers—hard to believe, I know. The flames disappeared the day after he graduated from Staples High School, since “they weren’t appropriate for a high school graduate!” Sounds like Truman, doesn’t it?
His employment at Edwards in Norwalk was serendipitous, since that is where he met his future partner at Trumac, Jack McSweeny. Together they built a highly successful business and became leaders in their field.
Elizbeth and Truman have a lovely home in Trumbull, and a spectacular home in Old Lyme. If there is heaven on earth, this is where it is located, and I know Tuman enjoyed every minute of his time there, puttering, fixing, and improving the house and grounds. An afternoon on the deck with a glass of wine and some Hors d'oeuvres was not only relaxing, but renewed and strengthened one’s psyche! Their grandchildren have enjoyed fishing, swimming, and kayaking on Long Island sound, along with just spending time with their Grandparents and each other
.
When Truman graduated from Bridgeport Engineering Institute, not only was he honored, but Elizabeth was also recognized for her support while he got his degree. That support and devotion continued throughout their marriage. Elizabeth cared for him throughout his last years with a tenacity that is unparalleled.
Truman’s obituary is a tribute to a life well lived by a man who made the most out of his personal strengths.
With love,
Joseph and Flora (Plassmann) Ligi

While I can't believe we hadn't seen you guys since (my brother) Michael's wedding in 2017, at least (my spouse) David took this lovely picture to remember that day. I'm glad that my kids and I all knew Truman our whole lives, as he was a genuinely nice person who will be missed even by those who didn't get to see him very often. ~ Chrissy (Christina Littleton Ball)
