Obituary of Kenneth B. Hyland

Kenneth B. Hyland, age 75, of Shelton, beloved husband of Elaine Gaul Hyland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Born in the Bronx, New York, on June 30, 1949, he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Louise Loftus Hyland. Ken was the owner and operator of Hyland Associates.

Ken enjoyed traveling, working in the yard, and rooting for the Yankees and the New York Giants. Summers at Point Pleasant Beach with family were a longtime tradition he cherished. A dedicated friend of Bill W., Ken made many friends whom he supported and who supported him.

More than anything, Ken valued time with his family. He was a proud father to four and a devoted grandfather to ten. His life was centered around his wife of 50 years, Elaine, his partner and closest companion.

In addition to Elaine, Ken is survived by his children, Kevin John Hyland and his wife Michelle, Erin Elizabeth McGee and her husband JJ, Kathryn Jeanne Kreiner and her partner Tom and Shane William Hyland and his wife Alexandra, 10 grandchildren, Emma Charlotte and Connor Joseph Hyland, Ella Elizabeth, Jace Henry and Julia Jeanne McGee, Jayden Thomas, Devon Jolee and Kaylen Jessica Kreiner and Avery Grace and Calla Elizabeth Hyland, three sisters, Joyce Hyland, Jennifer Hyland and Jacqueline DePaoli, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Janice Malizia.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, with family remembrances beginning at 6:30 p.m.
