Obituary of Rosita P. Mariani
Rosita Perez Mariani, age 95 of Trumbull, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at home. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Anthony P. Mariani, whom she met at Butler Business School in 1948. Born in New Britain on July 16, 1929, she grew up in Bridgeport, the younger daughter of the late Carlos and Patricia (Ruiz) Perez, and was a longtime Trumbull resident.
Rosita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, known for her kind and generous heart and her love of family gatherings. While she was modest about her culinary skills, she would always prepare extraordinary meals for extended family at the holidays. She was exceptionally devoted to her family and loyal to her friends. She enjoyed dancing and greatly loved music from the Great American Songbook, especially Frank Sinatra. While a bobby-soxed teenager in 1943, she convinced her group of friends to see Old Blue Eyes perform several shows in one day at the Paramount Theatre in New York.
Survivors include her two devoted children, Patricia Mariani and Anthony Mariani, his wife Carole Chinn-Mariani, two cherished grandchildren, Isabella and Alexander, a sister-in-law, Joan Berry and her husband Ronald, a nephew, William MacDonald, a niece, Juliette Berry, three grand nephews, Darien, Logan, and John, as well as additional cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia MacDonald, a nephew, Keith Berry, and a sister-in-law, Alice Mariani.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, May 23rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
