Obituary of Lida Shape

Lida Shape, age 70, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Edmond Shape, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 28, 2025. Born on April 27, 1955, in Korçë, Albania, she was the daughter of the late Myrteza and Fidarie.

Along with her family, Lida immigrated to the United States in 1998, first living in Bridgeport before moving to Monroe and eventually settling in Trumbull. While in Albania, Lida was a dedicated high school teacher who took great pride in helping her students grow.

Lida cherished the simple pleasures of life. Together with her late husband, she enjoyed daily walks, savoring the beauty of the world around them, simply talking and smiling at one another. She loved dancing with her husband and treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. As she raised her family, she created a home filled with love and was devoted to their care, cherishing every precious moment. Affectionately called Nëna, her grandchildren were her world, and her smile would light up a room whenever they were by her side. Lida was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. The unconditional love she gave and the beautiful memories she created will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two loving daughters, (Edlira) Eda Gjonbalaj and her husband Ujkan, and Elona Shape, all of Trumbull; her four adored and cherished grandchildren, Albion (Brianna), Ariana (Matt), Erion, and Andy; as well as several nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by a brother, Gjergji, and a sister, Engjëllushe.

All funeral services were held privately. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.abriola.com
