Obituary of Patsy S. Pagliarulo

Patsy Salvatore Pagliarulo, age 93, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2025.

He leaves his wife of 68 years, Patricia J. (DeSalle) Pagliarulo, his two daughters Lisa (Pagliarulo) Oswald of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, and Lori (Pagliarulo) Rahn of Manhattan, NY, and two granddaughters, Lily Rahn and Mia Rahn of Manhattan, NY, as well as many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Patsy was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 9, 1931, the loving son of the late Salvatore and Frances (Ravalese) Pagliarulo. Patsy was known and loved as an honorable man and a man of integrity. He was principled, fiercely loyal to family, and accomplished in his professional life. Humble and a good-hearted, Patsy made friends everywhere he went and nurtured those relationships—many, over a lifetime.

He was a student at Barnum School, a 1950 graduate of Warren Harding High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting at Fairfield University, where he graduated with honors in 1954. He also holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from Bridgeport University. He was awarded Fairfield University's prestigious President's Prize in Philosophy, bestowed to the graduating senior with the highest GPA. This was his most-prized honor, followed by being selected as Boy of The Year in 1949 by the Jerome Orcutt Boys Club, where he was a long-time member of one of the oldest boys' clubs in the United States.

Patsy was a member of the first graduating class to complete four years at Fairfield University and was a founding member of the University's men's basketball team, The Stags, who have been playing continuously since, most of those years with Patsy in the stands cheering on the team as a season ticket holder.

On September 15, 1956, he married the love of his life, Patricia DeSalle of Bridgeport, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and moved to Trumbull, CT the following year, where he raised his daughters and has since resided.

He served two years in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, then joined the U.S. Department of Defense Army Audit Agency in Bridgeport, the beginning of a decorated 32-year career where he served as the auditor in charge of the Defense Contract Audit Agency and its largest field offices in Connecticut. He retired from the U.S. government in 1986, then served for the next ten years as a senior consultant for Price Waterhouse, the multinational professional services firm (now PwC), in its government contractor practice, consulting with the largest government contractors, including Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, The Boeing Co., and Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.

Throughout their 68 years of marriage, Patsy and Patricia enjoyed traveling, visiting 33 U.S. states, 12 island nations, and 24 countries, including China, Canada, Italy, Malta and Russia. He loved vacationing every February on the Florida coast, enjoyed skiing every winter at his vacation home at Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, VT, and summered at the beach in Cape Cod, MA. They were avid bowlers and tennis players for many years.

After retirement, Patsy took up golf, and despite a high handicap, he was proudest of his two holes in one, the first at Blue Rock Golf Course in Yarmouth, MA and another on the 12th hole at his home course, Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull, CT. He was a charter member of Christ the King Church (formerly Most Precious Blood) upon its founding in 1962 and attained Third Degree Knight status with the Knights of Columbus Council #2961, the fraternal benefits society. Patsy was a devout Roman Catholic and loved his church.

Patsy was predeceased by his sisters Rose (Anthony) Misurale, Elivra (Frank) Palazzo, and Sylvia (Anthony) Verrilli.

Visitation is Thursday, May 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT with a funeral mass on Friday, May 9 at 10:30 am at Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, CT. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Baldino, Neil Baldino, Gregory D'Agostino, Stephen D'Agostino, Michael D'Agostino and Gene Ormsbee. Honorary pallbearers are Frank J. Oswald and Paul A. Rahn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers only.
