Obituary of Jeanette A. Nichio
Jeanette A. Nichio, age 82, of Trumbull passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Born in Bridgeport on March 26, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia (Athanas) Adam. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard. They had a whirlwind romance that lasted throughout their 57 years of marriage. He was the love of her life and when he passed away, he took much of her heart and soul with him.
She leaves behind her children: Richard Jr., Craig (Danielle), Rebecca (Kathy), Alicia (Al), her grandchildren: Victoria (Anthony), Adam, Anthony, Andrei, Dmitri, and Malia, and her sister: Deborah. Jeanette played many important roles within her church community, one of which was the secretary of the ladies society for six years. She expanded that role by cooking, cleaning and doing whatever it took to help out.
She loved her position in the Trumbull School System as a paraprofessional for nine years, but left that job to babysit her granddaughter, just as she had done for all her other grandchildren.
Jeanette was PTA president for nearly all the years her children were in school. She always felt it was important to be active in the school while your children were there.
Jeanette loved everything about life, especially if it involved family and friends. Whether she was bowling, gardening, cooking, entertaining, or shopping, she loved all of that even more, when she had family or friends around her.
She not only believed in the proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” she lived it. In addition to her own, she helped raise children in her neighborhood, family members children, and her grandchildren.
Summers were especially fun at Jeanette’s. Everyone came over to swim in her pool. However, there was a catch, everyone had to take the occasional break from swimming to pull out the weeds around the pool area. Her gardens were always beautiful, the flowers constantly in bloom. The yard and the house were always warm and inviting because of the woman that created the atmosphere.
Jeanette read voraciously, did word searches, loved helping to decorate houses, loved going for rides, and later on when she couldn’t do much of that, she turned to the Hallmark channel.
She never lost her positive outlook. She was the strongest, kindest, most loving person and will be missed beyond words.
