Obituary of Assunta Ferrari

Assunta "Sue" (Pagliaroli) Ferrari, age 89, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at home with her adoring family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Felice "Phil" Ferrari. Born in Veroli, Italy on August 15, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria Viselli Pagliaroli.

Mrs. Ferrari was a lifelong seamstress by trade, first in Italy and then at various clothing shops throughout the Bridgeport area. She was a phenomenal cook and famous for her homemade pasta, tomato sauce and meatballs, which everyone raved about. Her ability to always have something ready to provide for the impromptu guest that should unexpectedly visit was equally matched with her "open door" policy that she maintained throughout her life. It was her generosity, almost to a fault, that Sue's legacy leaves behind. She was beloved from family to friends and there was always a seat at her table. Sue was a woman of great faith and her devout Christian values were evident as a longtime member of St. Theresa Church, where she built many friendships. She enjoyed the casino and looked forward to the occasional bus trip to Ledyard with her friends that shared a similar interest.

Above all else however was her family, and being surrounded by them. She was fortunate to have been blessed with three great granddaughters, whom she adored. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her three devoted daughters, Rosemary Pryor and her husband Kevin of Westbrook, Tina Ferrari Devitis and her husband Vito of Italy and Melissa Ferrari of Trumbull, seven cherished grandchildren, Heather, David, Stefanie, Philip (Kassidy), Anthony, Andrea and Alessia and three adored great granddaughters, Ava, Jayde and Elaina, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband Phil of nearly 69 years, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Elaine Ferrari-Davila as well as her husband Jose, her sisters, Ida Cristini, Angelina Pagliarella and Emma Lia and a brother Amerigo Pagliaroli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org. For online condolences please visit us at www.abriola.com.
