Obituary of Alexandrina Rodrigues
Alexandrina Ferreira Da Silva Rodrigues, age 84, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Ilidio Lopes Rodrigues, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 30, 1940 in Barcelos, Braga, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Joao Da Silva and Maria Ferreira Da Silva.
Along with her family, Alexandrina immigrated to the United States in 1978, settling in Bridgeport before moving to Shelton. To her, family was the most important thing. She was a hard-working woman and provided nothing but the best for her family, often sacrificing her own needs. She could often be found tending to her garden and she enjoyed cooking traditional Portuguese dishes for her loved ones to enjoy. Alexandrina loved when the family was together, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would often sit with a nice glass of good red wine, while watching and admiring her family just enjoying themselves together. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her four loving children, Olivia DaCosta, Maria Khawly (Ed), George Rodrigues (Maria) and Francisco Rodrigues (Maria), nine cherished grandchildren, Alexandra (Brian), Sergio (Kristina), Daniela, Edouard, Tania (Josh), David, Vanessa (Jimmy), Tiffany (Elio) and Kimberly, six cherished great grandchildren, Tiago, Christian, Theo, Ava, Layla and Jaxon, four siblings, Adelino, Antonio, Carolina and Almira, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Manuel.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and aides of Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice and Caregiver Home Solutions for their dedicated professional care and compassion given to Alexandrina in her time of need.
