Obituary of Klebert Dorelien

Klébert Dorelien, from Stratford, was a beloved husband of 60 years to Ivana (Joseph) Dorelien, loving and devoted father of 10 children, and proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren, passed away peacefully on April 7th, 2025 at the remarkable age of 89.

Born in Grand-Bois, Haiti on March 10, 1936, he was a son of the late Imenes and Clerose (Seraphin) Dorelien. Embarked on a courageous journey to the United States 43 years ago, driven by his unwavering determination to provide a better life for his family. Through his hard work and perseverance, he built a legacy of love, resilience, and hope that will forever inspire his loved ones.As a pillar of his community, Klébert touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and infectious smile. His devotion to his family was unparalleled, and his guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ivana, 8 loving children: Yvon Dorelien and his wife Kettia, Yves Dorelien, Louise Dorelien, Bertha Brice and her husband Jonas, Pauline André and her husband Ducarmel, Rose Claire Antoine and her husband John, Klébert Dorelien, Jr and his wife Wanjiku, Rosa Dorelien and her husband Nesly Charles, a brother: Max Dorelien and his wife Fulvie Dorelien, a sister: Marie Inellie Mardy, 16 cherished grandchildren: Charlemagne Dorelien, Sabine Dorelien, Christian Dorelien, Jayden Dorelien, Christina Marcellus, Samantha Buissereth, Maureen André, Aidan André, Shama Brice, Kevin Antoine, Alexander Antoine, Kyle Antoine, Amari Dorelien, Travis Prochette, Lindsey Charles , and Gabriella Charles, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well. Predeceased by two sons Mario Dorelien and Jean Robert Dorelien, two brothers, Raymond Dorelien and Jacques Dorelien and a sister, Anne Marie Dorelien.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shared a part of his journey, and showed him kindness, love, and compassion over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Your presence is the greatest gift.
