Obituary of Dolores Politch

Dolores “Chickie” (Rolfe) Politch, age 92, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Politch, who had passed away exactly eight years ago to the day. Born in Bridgeport on December 23, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Marie (Clark) Rolfe. Chickie’s greatest enjoyment was found in the time she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Chickie was a 1950 graduate from Harding High School. She worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life, from bookkeeper to hairdresser.  But by far her most cherished role was that of homemaker.  Above all else, she was happiest when caring for the family she adored.

Survivors include her devoted daughters, JoMarie Politch of Stratford and Kim Wardlow and her husband Howard, also of Stratford and her two cherished grandchildren, Brendan and Caitlin Wardlow.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Peggi Politch of Hilton Head, SC as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband Joseph of 63 years, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Charles Walter Rolfe, James Edward Rolfe, William Rolfe and Raymond Rolfe.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Brianna Ruiz and Viola Allen, who cared for her like a member of their own family. Constellation Hospice, especially her dedicated nurse Jessica Perez as well as Dr. Qadri and nurse practitioner Lawrence Andersen from the Center for Geriatrics.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
