Obituary of Dennis John Caplinger Jr.

Dennis John Caplinger Jr., age 67, of Stratford, CT, beloved husband of Diane Lepore Caplinger, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on May 25, 1957, he was the son of Jeanette Raveis and the late Dennis John Caplinger Sr. A skilled carpenter and contractor, Dennis dedicated his life to hard work, always ensuring his family had everything they needed. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters, Olivia and Ella. Sundays were particularly special to him, as they brought the family together for their cherished weekly dinners. Dennis also had a passion for cooking, and he took great pride in preparing meals for his loved ones, especially for his wife, Diane. He was also an avid fisherman, enjoying countless hours on the water, where the simple joys of being together with family were his greatest treasures. Dennis's legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering values will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love for his family was truly unconditional, and the lessons he imparted will be passed down for generations. In addition to his beloved wife of 42 years, Diane, Dennis is survived by his two children: his daughter, Sarah Farrell and her husband Dan, and his son, Michael Caplinger and his wife Paige. He also leaves behind his two adored granddaughters, Olivia and Ella Farrell, as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his grand-puppy, Benny Blue, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
