Obituary of Anthony P. Scala
Anthony Patrick “Tig” Scala, age 82 of Easton passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Biro) Scala. Born in Bridgeport on June 11, 1942 he was a son of the late Anthony and Rose (DeMasi) Scala. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Scala was a carpenter by trade and operated his own business, Anthony Scala Builders, for many years before his retirement and built many friendships along the way. He was meticulous with the care and upkeep of his home and yard and found great enjoyment riding his tractor. A loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Helen of 57 years, other survivors include his sister, Rose Marie McKeown and her husband John of Virginia, his sister-in-law, Anna Scala of Stratford and several nieces and nephews, especially his favorite nephew, Michael. He was predeceased by his brothers, Sebastian and Joseph Scala and his sister, Frances Giovanelli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 655 Morehouse Rd., Easton. Interment with military honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
