Obituary of Eugene Gallucci
Eugene Gallucci, age 94, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Affectionately known as Papa, Dad and Eug, he was the beloved husband of Barbara (Grassi) Gallucci. Born in Faeto, Province of Foggia, Italy on March 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Pavia) Gallucci. Mr. Gallucci emigrated to the United States on February 11, 1937 with his family and was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, CT before earning his degree from the University of Connecticut in 1954. He later served proudly in the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Eugene had a distinguished career in accounting and finance that spanned several decades. He retired from General Electric after over 30 years of dedicated service. Eugene enjoyed traveling with family and friends and his green thumb allowed him the ability to produce a bountiful vegetable garden every summer. He enjoyed cooking, attending the opera and symphony and had a natural curiosity and love for learning anything new. He was a man of great character, strength and wisdom, who was greatly loved by his family and friends. His upbeat and welcoming nature will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
In addition to his beloved wife Barbara of nearly 69 years, other survivors include his devoted daughter, Evonne Klein (Randall) of Darien, his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Gallucci of Trumbull, his cherished grandchildren, Jason Klein (Bridget) of Easton, Michael Klein (Kirsten) of Stamford, Gregory Klein of Brooklyn, NY, Jack Gallucci of New York, NY, and Alli Gallucci of Trumbull, his adored great grandchildren, Natalie Klein and Jason Klein Jr. He was predeceased by his son Joseph in 2015 and his sisters, Silvia Gallucci, Mary Errichetti and Connie Gallucci.
