Obituary of Christina M. Gigliotti

Christina Palumbo Gigliotti, age 86, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Ludlowe Center, Fairfield with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincenzo Gigliotti. Born in Troia, Puglia, Italy on May 31, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Ludovico and Antoniette (Sepielli) Palumbo.

Christina came from Troia, Italy, as an Italian immigrant at the age of 20. She was married to her late husband, Vincenzo, with whom she shared four beautiful children. She cherished her grandchildren and took great joy in the arrival of her great-grandson. Her home was a warm and welcoming place, always bustling with company and the smell of freshly baked sponge cake. She was timeless, moving through life with grace. We will miss her dearly.

Survivors include her four devoted children, Caterina Mingolello and her husband Anthony, Annette DeFelice, Evana Falzone and her husband Robert and Vincenzo Gigliotti, two brothers, Vincenzo Palumbo and Michael Palumbo and his wife Darlene, three sisters, Grace Martino, Mary Toma and her husband Peter and Connie DeBrizzi and her husband Thomas, eight loving grandchildren, Anthony Mingolello II and his wife Josianne Llanos, Alexandra Josephine Mingolello and her husband Austin Peel, Michael Vincent DeFelice, Paul Francis DeFelice, Julia Ann Falzone, Zachary Joseph Falzone, Rachael Elizabeth Gigliotti and Sophia Rose Gigliotti and a cherished great grandson, Anthony Mingolello Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Susan Maielli, a son-in-law, Michael DeFelice and a brother-in-law, Anthony Martino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday the 23rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
