Dear Stephanie, Alan and your Families, There will be emptiness in our lives not being able to talk to Woz daily. Although we miss him, he endured so much suffering in the end, we are so thankful our gracious and merciful Lord took him home. Bill and I shared so many good times for the last 61 years. We have the same birthday, we fished in Connecticut every year, we took trips to Maine, and several great experiences Salmon Fishing on Lake Ontario. We lived together at “THE FARM” in Easton called Rolling Meadows. Nothing could compare to waking up Sunday mornings after a Saturday night gig to a big farm breakfast with the Eagles echoing from Woz’s huge speaker cabinets. We always included in our conversations humorous lines from Little Rascals & Marx Brothers episodes, as the two of us felt like we never grew up. In the Winter we sometimes hunted pheasant with Bill LaRoue and his dogs. I also worked for him on some of his construction jobs. We played and shared vocals in three different bands together. We traveled to Goose Bay Airforce Base in Labrador to perform for the United States Airforce. These are only a few of my cherished moments. You know, I can remember some real tough guys throughout my years but no one as brave as Billy. He handled some extreme hardships that life threw at him with warrior like valor without a complaint. Folks remember Bill as The Friend, The Carpenter, The Comedian, The Fisherman, The Father, The Grandfather, The Gardner, but to us and a certain group he will always be remembered as “THE WOZ”. Dear Stephanie, Alan and your families. To know Billy was to love him. He could light up a room, with his smile and his laughter he was just one of kind. I remember being a kid, and having lived next door, we would go to the garage window and listen to Billy and the guys playing in their band. I always thought he was the coolest guy around. Many years later we made apple strudel together, and I shredded my apples, he cut his into cubes, (he said I was doing it wrong) both of strudels were great because we made them with love. Good conversations. Always a good time with him, his gentle spirit will be with us always. May he rest in peace and you as his family find peace as he would want you to have.
