Obituary of Giovina Petitti
Giovina (Spinelli) Petitti, age 89, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Milford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Giovina was the beloved wife of the late Domenico Petitti, Born in Faeto, Province of Foggia, Italy on January 22, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Angela (Girardi) Spinelli and was a longtime resident of Milford.
Giovina was a Materials Coordinator at Sikorsky Aircraft with many years of dedicated service before her retirement. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as she loved each wholly and unconditionally. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by them and sharing stories and traditions. She also had a wicked sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Her other passion was gardening and could often be found in the yard tending to her flowers and vegetables and was always happy to share the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and vacationing with family and, in her later years she loved spending time at Milford Beach clamming, watching the sunset, going to concerts, and the occasional trip to the casino. Giovina was a devoted wife, a loving mother and doting grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family.
Survivors include her four devoted children, Mario Petitti of Jacksonville, FL, Antoinetta Petitti of Wallingford, Concetta Petitti of Milford, and Ralph Petitti of Milford, a sister, Antonia Fazio of GA, four loving grandchildren, Candace Petitti-Williams, Jerrod Petitti, Matthew Williams and Adam Williams and 7 cherished great grandchildren, Antonio, Layla, Noah, Cole, Bennett, Harrison, and Amelia, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Pietro Spinelli and a sister, Lillian Coppola.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Interment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
