Obituary of Louis J. DePeano

Louis J. DePeano, 92 of Monroe entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, March 13th at the VA Hospital in West Haven surrounded by his family.

Louis was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he attended Harding High School before serving his country in the United States Marine Corp. During his service, he received the Korean Service Medal, three Purple Heart Medals, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

After his military service, Louis attended hairdressing school and went on to own and operate Louis Hairstylist until his retirement. Beyond his dedication to his work, he found great joy in spending time with his family, tending to his yard with immense pride, playing golf, and watching basketball.

Louis was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rose, as well as his parents, Louis and Mae DePeano.

He is survived by his three daughters, Dana Tasi and her husband Rich, Gena Cascio and her husband Gary, and Stacey Baghdady and her husband George. His cherished grandchildren, Brittany Accumanno and her husband Chris, Brooke Tasi, Daniel Cascio and his wife Melissa, William Cascio and his fiancée Catie George, Alexandra and Ava Baghdady. In addition, his adored great-grandchildren, Drew and Hailey Accumanno and Emmie Cascio.

He is also survived by his brother Ed Collins and his wife Shirley along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will take place on Monday, March 17th at 10:30 directly in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
