Obituary of Leonard C. Faccenda Sr.

Leonard C. Faccenda Sr., age 93, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Josephine Provenzano Faccenda, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on December 23, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles and Angel DelVecchio Faccenda. Leonard was a retired inventory comptroller for Tom Watt. A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Food Service Squadron and took pride in cooking for the troops. His greatest memory was being able to cook for Marilyn Monroe. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan.

Above all, his greatest role was that of husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was at his best when his grandchildren and great grandchildren were by his side. The unconditional love he gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his three loving children a son, Leonard Faccenda Jr., and his wife Barbara, two daughters, Joann Kapitan and her husband Richard and Angela Faccenda-Abed, six cherished grandchildren, Amanda Campofiore and her husband David, Amy Kapitan, Alex Faccenda, Jennifer Sharp and her husband Kevin, and Christopher Faccenda and Anthony Abed, two adored great grandchildren, Adam and Ashley, son-in-law, Rick Abed, sister-in-law, Maryann Marini, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Gregory Charles Kapitan, a brother, Thomas Faccenda and two sisters, Dorothy Falco and Cynthia Milewski.

The family would like to thank the nurses, CNA's and the entire staff at Bishop Wicke Health Care for the loving care given to Leonard during his time of need.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
