Obituary of Anthony N. Mainiero Sr.

Anthony N. Mainiero Sr., age 60, of Shelton, beloved husband of Filomena Iovane Mainiero, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on December 31, 1964, he was a son of the late Nicholas Raymond Mainiero and Ellen Marie Salvaggio.

Tony, dad, Poppa was truly one of a kind. As a retired painter, his days were consumed by the two joys of his life: his granddaughters, Sofia & Liana, and his beloved dog Stella. He had the biggest heart and the best sense of humor. With his unforgettable grin, he will be missed beyond measure. To know Tony was to love him, he always had a good story and was always up for an adventure. Until we see you again, rest peacefully with your beloved Anthony.

In addition to his beloved wife of 45 years, Filomena, survivors include his loving son, Michael Mainiero and his wife Brittany, two cherished granddaughters, Sofia and Liana, a brother, Nicholas Mainiero and his wife Maria, a sister, Kathleen Mainiero, his brothers and sisters-in law, Theresa Alcanfora (Ralph), Franco Iovane, Patsy Iovane (Cheryl), Angelina Twigg (Mike), a special niece Angela Twigg, as well additional nieces and nephews, Michael Twigg (Kim), Nick Twigg (Alyssa), Joe Carloto, Danielle Giacobbe (Joe), Michelle Iovane (Josh), and Marissa Mainiero. He also leaves to cherish his memory, dear Cousins: The entire Rossi Family, Fran Mingolello and Alicia Casace and Shelly Mainiero.

He was predeceased by a son Anthony N. Mainiero Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1 – 4 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
