Mr. & Mrs. Cappello, Jake, and Jared.
I went to Tashua Elementary School, Madison Middle School, and THS with Josh. In the 4th grade he taught me a little about chess.
In the 5th grade he, along with you Mr. Cappello, taught me a little about how to play basketball.
Mr. Cappello, you were also my history teacher in 8th grade.
I worked on several projects with Josh in High School.
Every interaction I have had with your son, and your family at large, has been positive and constructive. It very saddening that such a constructive and purposeful individual is gone.

Josh was in nearly every one of my religious studies classes with me. He was an absolutely brilliant scholar! A genius expert on islamic history, religion, mysticism, and Arabic language. I think often of the beautiful discussions we would share about comparative religious philosophy. The world has lost a truly beautiful and brilliant person. I was so blessed to have gotten to know him and am so saddened by his passing.

We were terribly saddened to hear the news of Josh's passing. Please accept our most hearfelt condolences. As a friend of mine once said, coincidences to those without faith are divine choreography for those who believe. I believe it’s divine choreography to be on this page. Google alerts sent me an email with Josh’s obituary where my author name was used. I read the story of his life and I prayed for him. I wish we could have sat together over some tea and talked about his love of Rumi and middle eastern history. His picture carries the light of galaxies in his eyes and his heart feels so sweet. If I can feel that across the seas and internet, I cannot imagine what a wondrous gift it was to know him, to love him. I pray for the tender places in your hearts right now and I ask for the light of God to embrace you gently. It’s Ramadan right now, so I have a few friends praying for him alongside me today. I met Rachel 18 years ago when she started working at our school. We all love Rachel. She is smart, funny and hard working.
