Obituary of Dorothy H. Tucci

Dorothy H. Daus Tucci, age 85 of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Dr. James Vincent Tucci. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 13, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Graf) Daus and was a longtime resident of Trumbull.

Dorothy attended Hofstra College (Now University) majoring in Chemistry. After graduation she was employed by Plastic Coating (Now Scott Paper) and developed the washable book cover, a paper coating to eliminate carbon paper, and an apparatus for high speed photographic film production. She was later employed by Acme United, Baron Consulting, and Bayer Pharmaceutical, where she eventually retired from.

Dorothy was an avid reader, loved gardening and maintaining a beautiful home. She loved large dogs including St. Bernards and Bernese Mountain Dogs, always having one. In addition to her beloved husband James of 64 years, survivors include daughter, Angela Teresa Tucci and daughter-in-law, Candice Ann Bowen, a brother, Harold Daus, nieces, Dr. Diana Daus and Deb Wright, nephews, Joseph Daus, Daniel Daus and James Madison Brown III, a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jane Brown and a goddaughter, Lori Janson as well as her devoted dog, Luca Tucci.

A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 4-7 p.m.
