Obituary of Jean A. Sambursky

Jean Alibrandi "Boston Jean" Sambursky, age 90, of Winsted and formerly of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late John P. "Boston John" Sambursky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 20, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Bounazinga Alibrandi. Jean was a retired bookkeeper for many years for Lacey Manufacturing. Boston Jean loved the ponies, trips to the casino and was an avid bingo player.

Her happiest moments where those spent with family, especially with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Lucy Rouse and her husband Sonny, two cherished grandchildren, Brian Rouse and his wife Michele and Matthew Rouse and his wife Daniela, four adored great grandchildren, Arianna, Christian, Lucas and Sienna, a sister-in-law, Rosemary Vardaro, brother-in-law, Felix Vardaro, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
