Obituary of Earl Rocco Altieri
Earl Rocco Altieri, 94 of Trumbull Ct passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the VA Medical Center in West Haven CT. Earl was born in the family home on Clarence Street Bridgeport Ct on July 31, 1930. He was the son of the late Frank and Ida (Volpe) Altieri. Upon graduating from Harding High School Earl proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War receiving an honorable discharge. After leaving the military, Earl married the love of his life the late Alice M. (Cryoskie) Altieri enjoying a 65 year marriage. Earl went to work for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company beginning his distinguished 35 year career there as a life insurance agent eventually becoming district manager. Upon his retirement he then became Vice President of SBLI at the Bank Mart for 10 years in Bridgeport Ct. upon his 2nd retirement, he became active locally serving as the chairman of the Indland Wetland watercourses Commission in Trumbull for 14 years. Earl was proud to be a member of the American Legion Post 141 Trumbull and eventually serving a term as Commander. Earl served the town in many different capacities and was always eager to give back to his community.
Above all Earl cherished spending time with his family. Earl and Alice loved to visit their favorite spot Sanibel Island where many special memories were made. It was the little things in life that Earl Cherished, whether playing cards with friends, or watching a baseball game with family. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted children, Frank Altieri of Trumbull, Lorraine Altieri of Trumbull, Christine Loper of Florida, Beverly Jacovino of Trumbull, his cherished grandchildren Antonio Rodrigues and wife Susan of Stratford, Angela Lima and husband Vitor of Ansonia, several other grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife of 65 years, he was also pre deceased by his daughter Debra Howell, his sister Fran Grosso, and his brothers Leonard and Patsy Altieri.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in the Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford.
