Obituary of Jon Paul Redmond
Jon Paul Redmond, 75, of Stratford, CT, husband of Deborah Redmond, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025. Born May 29, 1949 in Bridgeport, CT to the late George and Mildred (Schmidlin) Redmond, he was one of thirteen children.
Jon was raised in Bridgeport and attended area schools including Bullard-Havens Technical High School where he played football. He was a former member of the Stonybrook JAWS softball team and an avid Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed spending time with friends at Pequonnock Yacht Club when it was located in Bridgeport. Jon loved to celebrate his Irish heritage with family every St. Patrick's Day (and never turned down a shot of Jameson).
Family was most important to him and he loved to travel to Misquamicut, RI for the annual family vacation and charter a boat (L'il Toot in Point Judith) with family and friends for his favorite past time, fishing. Jon previously worked for Carpenter Steel and owned the Village Pub for several years. Many of his relatives viewed him as the patriarch of the family and we will miss him forever.
In addition to his wife, Jon is survived by his children: Donna (Brian) McCormack of Epsom, NH, Jon (Kim) Redmond of Monroe, CT and Calian (Craig) Casman of Milford, CT; his grandchildren: Patrick (Devin), Breanna, Sarah, James, Teagan and Ryleigh; his great-grandchildren: Avery, Cian, Jaxson and Maeve; his brother: Kenny (Nanci) Redmond; his sisters: Maureen DeStefano, Kathleen (Robert) Wendell, Jackie DeStefano, Patricia Redmond, Shirley Redmond and Karen Rodriguez and several cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Jack Schmidlin, Bobby Redmond, Tommy Redmond, Kevin Redmond and Brad Redmond as well as several extended relatives and in-laws who were some of his best friends.
Loved ones and friends may greet his family on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4 - 7 PM at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT. A celebration of life will be held privately. To leave an online condolence, visit www.abriola.com.
