Felicia Verrusio Belenchia, age 86, of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Lord Chamberlain with her loving family by her side and was the wife of the late Ferriero "Fred" Belenchia. Born in Nocera Inferiore, Province of Salerno, Italy on December 8, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Matilda (Donini) Verrusio and was a longtime resident of Bridgeport.
Felicia worked at Hawie Manufacturing for many years after coming to America in 1959 and then at St. Joseph's Manor as a Geriatric Aide before her retirement. She loved gardening, the beach, the casino and traveling with her husband, family and friends.
Survivors include her three loving children, Victor Belenchia and his wife Dawn, Matilda Hopco and her husband Mark and Rosanna Belenchia, a brother, Frank Verrusio and his wife Anna, a sister-in-law, Nancy Belenchia and five cherished grandchildren, Melissa Hopco-Brooks and her husband Zachary, Matthew Hopco, Samantha, Gabrielle and Luca Belenchia as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Dina Barberio and her husband Pasquale.
Felicia's family would like to thank all the nurses and aides on the 4th floor memory care unit of Lord Chamberlain and all the special angels at Hospice for their wonderful care of their mom.
All are invited to meet directly in St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
