Eliseu "Eli" Rosa Sr.

Eliseu (Eli) Rosa Sr., age 69, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Rosemarie Silva Rosa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 4, 1953 in Pedrario, Montalegre, Portugal, he was a son of the late Anibal and Isaura Vicencio. Eli came to the United States on July 4, 1966 and settled with his family in Bridgeport.

A hard-working man, he was a longtime member of the Laborers Union. Eli was a retired foreman with Mark IV Construction having over 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed spending time at Omanel's restaurant with his friend's watching soccer and socializing. But above all he was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Affectionately known as "Grumpy", he was at his best when his granddaughters were by his side. The values he taught and love he gave will forever live in their hearts.

In addition to his beloved wife of 39 years, Rose, survivors include his two loving sons, Eli Rosa Jr. and his wife Darlin and Nicholas Rosa and his wife Angela, two cherished granddaughters, Anabelle and Guliana, two brothers, Jack Rosa and Manny Rosa, two sisters, Fernanda Jorge and her husband Amadeu and Maria Vaszil, as well as several nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Robert Vaszil.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
