Grandma Lee was a the most fabulous diva and an absolute ray of sunshine! My favorite memories of her include summer Saturdays with Krissalee and Britley making fried dough, painting our nails on the sun porch, and creating artwork with her many bingo daubers (before Grandpa Joe made sure we got some lake time as well).
In this photo, I had just sent Krissalee a package asking her to be my bridesmaid and Grandma Lee’s response was, “oh how wonderful!” followed by that contagious laugh that will continue to live on in my memories and heart!
All dolled up and ready to go! Coordinated head to toe. Lee loved a lunch out, trip to the casino or a bingo game but was just as happy at home with her family in which she always made me feel welcome. She was a little hesitant with our bigger lab mixes when we brought them to visit but they quickly turned into her best friends as she had them in her kitchen eating chicken cutlets out of her hand.
I loved her sass and spunk but also her ability to stay positive and happy. She was a kind soul and will be greatly missed.
I will miss my mom! She was great to all my friends and none of them left our house hungry! The pasta dinners for my Purple Knights teammates and coaches are still talked about today. She came to the watch me ref at Mohegan Sun
but the only seat she took that day was in front of the one arm bandits…. Pictured here was my last solid interaction with her this past winter at a rehab center playing bingo!
