Obituary of Raymond Domizio

Raymond Domizio, age 70, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Karen Emack Domizio. Born in Bridgeport on May 17, 1947, he was a son of the late Dominick P. and Cevita Monaco Domizio. Ray was a Park Superintendent for the City of Bridgeport, where he worked as a greens keeper for the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was an avid golfer and was a former member of both the Mill River Country Club and Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course. He proudly served as a member of the Greens Keeper Association and found great enjoyment as a talented woodworker, especially making benches. Although much of his life revolved around golf, his greatest enjoyment was found spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 20 years, Karen, other survivors include his step daughters, Deborah Backiel of Philadelphia, PA, Michelle Kochiss and her husband Jeffrey of Cheshire and Lisa Pjura of Brooklyn, NY, two cherished grandchildren, Anna and Griffin, his brother, Stephen Domizio and his wife Barbara of Trumbull, his three aunts, Philomena Mallick, Ann Barker and Dolores Scalzo and niece and nephew, Jennifer Marsilius and her husband Newman of Trumbull and Stephen Domizio and his wife Susan of Fairfield. He is also survived by his best friend, Barry Triano of Trumbull.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton.
