Obituary of Eleanor J. Mariconda

Eleanor Donofrio Mariconda, age 93, of Stratford, beloved wife of Dominick J. Mariconda, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on October 18, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Isabelle Scinto Donofrio. Eleanor was a graduate of the Warren Harding High School Class of 1942 and was an active parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport and St. Mark Church, Stratford. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to the care and love of her family. The unconditional love and memories created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family. Eleanor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her devoted husband of 74 years, Dominick, survivors include four loving children, Marilyn Salerno and her husband Andrew of MA, Gail Iassogna and her husband Robert of Stratford, Paul Mariconda and his wife Susan of Norwalk and Peter Mariconda and his wife Amy of Stratford, five cherished grandchildren, Timothy and Jeffrey Iassogna, Melissa Reed and David and Michael Salerno, five adored great grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Andrew, Katherine and Skylar Rose; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Daniel, Leonard, Matthew and Anthony Donofrio and three sisters, Grace Kindzierski, Antoinette DeAngelis and Rose Affanato. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, from 4 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
