John Vito Calandrelli, 91, of Fairfield (formerly of Norwalk), beloved husband of Judith (Lippolis) Calandrelli for 68 years, passed away peacefully on February 28. Survivors in addition to his loving wife include his devoted children, Janis (Anthony) Baldino of Trumbull, Jill (John) Monroe of Saint Louis, MO, John Calandrelli of Enfield, CT and Joan (Sal) Trombetta of Trumbull, CT. Survivors also include his cherished grandchildren Laura, Matthew, Diana, Allison (and Fiancee Martin) Michael, Julie and Emily. He happily and proudly attended all their school plays, concerts, sporting events and graduations. They were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister Aida Calandrelli-Longo; many nieces and nephews. John was born on May 30, 1926 to Joseph and Mary (Esposito) Calandrelli and raised in Stamford. He served in the US Army during World War II in Germany. He worked at Pitney Bowes for 45 years as well as Shore and Country Club for 10 years following his retirement from Pitney Bowes. He was a lifetime Red Sox, Dallas Cowboy and UCONN Girls' basketball fan. His greatest love was time spent with his family, who adored him beyond words. He was a true gentleman and a gentle man. The unconditional love and support that John gave his family will be greatly missed. We will love you and miss you forever.
