Obituary of Anna S. Catalano

Anna S. Nicita Catalano, age 95, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on February 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Catalano. Born in Bridgeport on February 25, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Georgi and Anna Ballig Nicita. Mrs. Catalano had been employed by Warnaco, where she worked as a supervisor before her retirement with many years of dedicated service. Upon her retirement, she moved to Winterhaven, FL, where she spent 11 years before returning to Stratford to be closer to her grandchildren. Anna was a very active member at the Baldwin Center, where she loved to play bocce and built many lasting relationships while attending there. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her loving children, Gail Ann Catalano and Gary Catalano, both of Stratford, her three cherished grandchildren, Kristin Catalano of Shelton, Christopher Catalano of Stratford and Steven Catalano of Stamford, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Louis, she was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Catalano and her brother, Frank Nicita. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be held privately. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
