Obituary of Frank J. D'Amore

Frank J. D'Amore, age 99, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Mildred Russo D'Amore, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2018 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 30, 1919, he was the son of the late Francis D'Amore and Nancy D'Amore Favoccia Giannico. In addition to his beloved wife, Mildred of 76 years, he is survived by his loving daughter, Donna Ortoli of Trumbull, grandson Jeffrey Ortoli, of Florida, and two great grandchildren, Michael and Samantha Ortoli. He was predeceased by his son, Robert D'Amore, sisters Mary Braca, Margaret Ocetnik, and Ann D'Amore and brothers Augustine D'Amore, and Jim and Tony Favoccia.

After marrying the love of his life, he served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Educated as an artist, he formed Babyland Photos as a baby photographer and later was employed by the United States Postal Service for many years before his retirement. He was very passionate about gardening, self-taught through the library and amassed a wealth of knowledge. He was a friend to all, mentor to many and a passionate family man.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to his doctors and home care providers Debbie Holland and Carmella Cleary for without them he would not have been able to remain at home and live fully until 99.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull.
