Obituary of Lucy O. Kucky

Lucy Orticelli Kucky, age 87, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of John M. Kucky, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on December 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Benedetto Orticelli. A woman of great faith, she was very active in St. Margaret Shrine parish as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Altar Guild, and volunteered faithfully for many years at the St. Anthony Feast. Lucy loved to travel, sew, knit and was known for making the best pasta and meatballs. Her greatest enjoyment however was found in the time she spent with her family and taking care of them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her beloved husband John of 61 years, other survivors include her three loving children, Mark Kucky of Myrtle Beach, SC and Norwalk, Keith Kucky and his wife Karen of Shelton, and Lynn Kucky Stonis and her husband Ed of Foxborough, MA; her nine cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Danielle, Summer, Joseph, Michael, Garrett, Trevor, Emerson, and Tenley; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John M. Kucky, Jr. and her brother, Salvatore Orticelli. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice Home Care, especially Gebriel and Selena for their kindness and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
