Obituary of Jo-Ann D. Cremin

Jo-Ann Doherty Cremin, age 69 of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joseph D. Cremin, passed away at her home on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Born on August 10, 1948 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Ann Houle Doherty. After graduating Stratford High School, Jo-Ann attended and graduated from Leon's Institute of Hair Design in Bridgeport. She retired from Gastroenterology Associates of Fairfield after many years. Affectionately known as Lala, Jo-Ann cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her granddaughters. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and hosting many lunches at her house as well as the weekly Sunday breakfasts at the diner. She loved spending time in Florida and could never pass up a good tag sale. She was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post 9460. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. Jo-Ann is survived by two daughters, Dawn Barrett and her husband Michael and Jodi Gorlo and her husband Brian all of Stratford; three granddaughters, Sara Barrett, Katherine and Gracie Gorlo; a sister, Mary Hildreth and her husband Bill of MA, brothers, Thomas Doherty and his wife Donna of Huntington, and Joseph Doherty and his wife Terri of FL; four step children, Joseph Cremin and his wife Paige of FL, Bethann Gusitsch and her husband Douglas of MA, Scott Bogdany and his wife Jessica of Miss, and Jason Bogdany and his wife Marisa of NY; a brother-in-law, James Agresta of Derby, and many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends. In addition to her husband Joseph, she was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Susan Tenney and a sister, Patricia Agresta. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
