Obituary of Santo "Sandy" J. Albino

Santo "Sandy" Albino, age 70, of Southington, a retired salesman for Martin Cabinet Company of Plainville, died Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the CT Hospice, Branford. Born and raised in New Britain, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ceil (Jezewski) Albino, and was a Southington resident over 40 years. He was a former employee of Fafnir Bearing Company. Sandy was an avid fan of all sports, but was especially dedicated to his New York Yankees and UCONN men's and women's basketball teams. He always took great pride tending to his manicured lawn and landscaping. Sandy was extremely proud of his ethnic Sicilian heritage, and enjoyed time with friends and family and especially summer trips to Cape May, New Jersey. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include his devoted wife of 49 years, Sofia Cammarata Albino of Southington; his son, Joseph Albino of Southington, his daughter, Laura Abriola and her husband James of Trumbull, four cherished grandchildren, Rachel, Christina and Vincent Abriola and Luca Albino, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph C. Albino. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. and at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Road, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Friday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
