Obituary of Santo Millo

Santo Millo, age 87, of Stratford passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Paulita Rivera Millo. Born in Bridgeport on December 30, 1929, he was a son of the late Antonio and Bettina Albarelli Millo. A proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Santo served honorably during the Korean War. He was later employed by Sikorsky Aircraft before his retirement with 44 years of dedicated service. He loved gardening and also enjoyed going to the casino in his retirement. He was an honest and faithful man who took pride in everything that he did and was willing to help everyone. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Doreen Millo-Capozziello of Fairfield, his stepson, Will Vargas of Stratford, his cherished grandchildren, Dennis Capozziello of Bridgeport, Danielle Capozziello and her companion Jesus Medina and Daneen Capozziello, all of Fairfield, three adored great grandchildren, Makayla, Gianna and Peyton Nicole and his sister, Betty Feller of Monroe. He was predeceased by a stepson, Nelson Varga, his brothers, John, Pal and Anthony Millo and his sisters, Connie Dattola, Ida Shinglar, Theresa Julian and Susan Lang.

"The last three years of my life I spent with my father were the greatest. My father was a very special and unique man who loved unconditionally. He was an honorable, caring man with so much love for his family and a great sense of humor. Daddy, I love you and will miss you dearly."

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
