Obituary of Jane E. Lombardi

Jane Ellen (Eustace) Lombardi, age 82 of Stratford and previously Bridgeport and beloved widow to the love of her life, Victor T. Lombardi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.  She was the strong and loving foundation of a family that grew to include her brother, 5 children, their extended families and 13 grandchildren.  The last few weeks of her life was spent with her five children coming full circle to share past memories to last an eternity. She will be remembered for her humble approach to touching lives and unconditional generosity toward those that were blessed to be in her life. As her children and her grandchildren continue to grow she will remain a role model for what it takes to create a loving family.

Her life accomplishment and example for others is her innate ability to dedicate herself to her husband and family throughout life’s journey of celebrations, challenges and long term illness, while working full time and leading a household. Her foundational studies at Butler Business School in conjunction with an instinctive aptitude for success culminated in her position as Purchasing Manager at Housatonic Community College. Jane was also an amazing and avid seamstress/ fashion designer and cook. She cherished family visits to the beach, hosting many holiday dinners and special family dinners. Jane also enjoyed close friends within the Oronoque community such as water aerobics, musicals and fun outings.

She has always genuinely loved her brother, Jim, since the early days of caring for him during World War II and looking forward to his spur of the moment coffee visits. Jane continued to have a special place in her heart for her husband’s remaining sister Dorothy Nolting and best friend, Gerry.

She was predeceased by her husband, Victor T. Lombardi. Survivors include her brother, James Eustace and wife Fran of Wallingford and five devoted children, Daughter Caroline and her husband Mario Piselli of Branford and their children, Matthew and his wife Kate, Christina and Jennifer, Son, Victor and his wife Andrea of Vero Beach, Florida and their children, Candace and Julianne, Son, Michael and his wife Sally of Phoenix, Arizona and their children, Christopher, Patrick, Brianna and Jillian, Daughter Angela and her husband, John Young of Stratford and their children, Cody, Brittany, Hailey and Ashley, Son Patrick of New Haven, Sister in law, Dorothy Nolting of Stratford, 5 nieces and nephews and an additional 14 grand-nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on July 10, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Marks Catholic Church in Stratford. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford.  Relatives and friends may greet the family from 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
