Obituary of Concetta A. Dezso

Concetta A. Grasso Dezso, age 83, of Trumbull, died on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home after a long illness. Born in Bridgeport on August 16, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary Russo Grasso. She was a member of the Warren Harding High School Class of 1951 and was a dedicated parishioner of St. Theresa Church, Trumbull. In challenging times she never lost a firm grip in her faith. Concetta was also a member of the National Foundation of the Blind. Due to her progressive blindness, in later years she was very limited in what she could do. Regardless, she was instrumental to helping raise her granddaughter thru 6th grade and her disability did not prevent her from perfecting exceptional cooking and baking skills. She also enjoyed dancing and was a dance instructor in her earlier years. She was an employee of the former Lane Hair Stylist at the Trumbull Shopping Mall and the former Bridgeport Jai Alai.

Survivors include two children, Kim Lucas of West Haven and Theodore A. Dezso III and his wife Theresa of Shelton, a granddaughter, Heather Lucas; sisters Linda Sorrentino of Stratford and Jean Czajkowski of Trumbull, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nat and Ermin Grasso and her former husband Theodore A. Dezso Jr.

In declining health Concetta requested these words expressed to her family and friends "I want to thank everyone who has supported and helped me for many years. Due to my eyesight and limited resources there was never a way to pay back your kindness.....Connie"

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
