Obituary of Betty Jean Timpanelli

Betty Jean “Babe” Roviello Timpanelli, age 87, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter L. Timpanelli. Born in Bridgeport on March 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret DeGruttola Roviello. She was employed by Norden Systems, where she worked as an inspector before her retirement with many years of dedicated service. Her greatest enjoyment was found in the time she was surrounded by her family, especially her grandson, who was her pride and joy. Betty Jean loved watching her UConn Girls, was an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was also grateful for the many friendships she acquired while living in the Hidden Knolls Community. She was “Aunt Babe” and “Mimi” to those who love her. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her but Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. She is survived by her devoted son and daughter in law, Peter and Gloria Timpanelli of Seymour, a cherished grandson, Matthew Timpanelli, a brother, Lewis Roviello and his wife Shirley of Fairfield, a devoted sister, Jacqueline Kopcik of Shelton and sister-in-law, Jane Timpanelli of Trumbull, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty Jean’s caregiver Betty Dimock, for her exceptional care and compassion, and also Griffin Hospital for their care and support during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
