Obituary of Manuel Ribas

Manuel Ribas, age 92, beloved husband of Virginia Branco Ribas of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Born in Padroso, Montalegre Portugal on June 14, 1924, he was a son of the late Manuel Ribas and Rita Goncalves Branco. Before his retirement he worked at Powerwinch Inc. formerly of Shelton for many years. Manuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his beloved wife Virginia of 62 years, survivors include four loving children, Jose (Joe) Ribas and his wife Gloria of Monroe, Antonio Ribas and his wife Janet of Bridgeport, Americo (Matt) Ribas of Branford, and Maria Seara and her husband Antonio of Trumbull, seven grandchildren, Shaun, Bryan, Jonathan, Michael, Catherine, Daniel and Nicole, six great grandchildren, Ariana, Juliana, Natasha, Jace, Asher and Adeline, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ana and Manuel Branco of Ludlow, MA and Joaquina Branco of Portugal as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4-8 pm.
