Obituary of Frank Mondo
Frank P. Mondo, age 87, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie Ganung Mondo. Born in Bridgeport on January 6, 1930, he was a son of the late Frank Mondo and Jennie Borelli Mondo. Frank was a graduate of Central High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Fairfield University. He was also a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, he had served honorably during the Korean War. Frank had been employed by John Hancock Financial Services as an insurance salesman before his retirement with many years of dedicated service. A true "Jack of all trades", there wasn't anything he couldn't do. He loved his garden and once you were friends it was forever. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Philip M. Mondo of Bridgeport and very dear friend, Ann Smith of Southport. Other survivors include his nieces, Linda Domizio and her partner Rich Tinger of Fairfield and Diane Rullan of Key West, FL, and his nephew, Albert Domizio of Ansonia. In addition to his wife Marie, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Helen Domizio and Rose Hetes and brothers, Philip and James Mondo.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
