Obituary of Rudolph C. Sterback

Rudolph Charles Sterback, age 79, beloved husband of Carol Trapasso Sterback, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 31, 2017. Born in Bridgeport on April 11, 1937, he was a son of the late Rudolph Perchaluk and Mary Sterback and was a longstanding resident of Shelton. Before his retirement he was a Data Processing Manager at Pitney Bowes in Stamford for 40 years and finished his work career as a security guard in Shelton. Rudolph was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and the National Guard and a member of the Governors Foot Guard. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was an enthusiast and avid collector of all things military, especially World War I. His greatest joy in life was providing and caring for his family and helping others. In addition to his wife Carol of 56 years, he is survived by three daughters, Tracey Adkins (Frank) of Shelton, Susan Hudson of Colchester and Kelly Soisson (Jeff) of Beacon Falls and six beautiful grandchildren, Jeff, Chris and Greg Jukins of FL, Ashley Adkins of Shelton and Kyle and Jason Soisson of Beacon Falls as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Hoitko, Paul, John and Julia Slosar. Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford . Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
