Obituary of Maria Ottaviano Lionetti

Maria Ottaviano Lionetti, age 97, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Aquilante Lionetti, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 7, 1919 in San Mango sul Calore, Province of Avellino, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Grazia Pierni Ottaviano. Maria came to the United States in 1985 and settled in Trumbull. Her infectious smile and laugh could light up any room and bring joy to everyone. Maria dedicated herself to the care of her family; the love and care she gave unconditionally will always remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her four loving children two daughters, Edelweis Melchionno and her husband Aldo of Trumbull and Isabella Boccuzzi and her husband Quinto of Palm Coast, FL, two sons, Adolfo Lionetti and his wife Donna and Raffaele Lionetti and his wife Luisa all of Regina, Canada, 11 cherished grandchildren, Robert Melchionno, Maria Blem, Angela Lionetti, Tina Cinque, Anna Barker, Monica Norris, Clara Cavalli, Dora Grayeski, Nancy Wager, Linda Quintanilla and Terry Aquilante Lionetti, 17 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday from 4-8 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
