Obituary of Emma F. Fengler

Emma Bilo Fengler, age 97, formerly of Trumbull, died peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Hearth in Southbury. Born in New Britain, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frieda and Edward Bilo and was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years Edgar Fengler. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Trumbull where she had been active in the Dorcas Guild and Rock of Ages. She was retired after 18 years from the former Stevenson Lumber Co. where she worked in Accounts Receivable, after which she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States. She also took pride in her oil paintings & various types of art work, many crafts and was well known for her homemade pies especially apple. She was devoted to her family and delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Gerald Fengler and his wife Linda of Fort Myers, FL, daughter, Colette Kimball of Woodbury, sister, Beverly Swanson and her husband Inger of Wethersfield, sister-in-law, Martha Bilo of West Hartford, six grandchildren, Dale Kimball II and his wife Jean, Marc Fengler and his wife Kelly, Stewart Kimball and his wife Colette, Scott Fengler and his wife Deanna, Brenda Kimball and Melissa Morris and her husband Matt, seven great grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Jakob, Hannah, Aubrey, Colton and Owen as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Kurt Bilo and great granddaughter Samantha Kimball. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the Keepsake staff at the Hearth for the wonderful care given to our mother for the past six years of her life and to the nurses and staff of Vitas during her final months. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main St., Trumbull, CT 06611.
