He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving children, Barbara George and her husband Fred of Easton, John Okas of Bridgehampton, New York, Vincent Okas and Albert Okas, Jr., both of Torreon, New Mexico, three cherished grandchildren, Daisy Okas, Eric George and Alex George, a sister-in-law, Genrose Fredrickson of Brooklyn, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Gaetana, he was also predeceased by his sisters, Anne Sniechkus, Ella Marcavage, Mary Zerolis and Agnes Newman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. directly in St. Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, NY. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Jewish Senior Services, 4200 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06604 in Albert Okas' name. Without this institution, his last years on this earth may not have been so incredibly peaceful and wonderful. We cannot thank the JHE enough for all they did for Dad over the years. Special thanks to the nurses and aides on Tandent East and Scinto House for their care and compassion.
