Obituary of Anthony F. Duva

Anthony F. Duva (Tony), age 84, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Lucy Cortello Duva, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport, on June 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank and Pasqualina Bocchino Duva. A retired employee of the State of Connecticut, Tony was a mechanic for the Connecticut State Police Troop G, Bridgeport, and was the former owner and operator of Duva's Sales & Services in Bridgeport. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Tashua Knolls Men's Senior Golf Club, and was a member of the Easton Lions Club. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he was a loving and giving man who treasured the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed life to the fullest and expressed it in everything he did. The memories and love that Tony showed will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 63 years, Lucy, survivors include his two loving sons, Anthony Duva and his wife Alison of Trumbull and David Duva and his wife Terri of Glenmoore, PA. Four cherished grandchildren, AJ and his wife Valerie, Andrew and his fiancé Angela Mathisen, Justine and Lauren Duva, his sister-in-law, Edith Cascio of Monroe, brother-in-law, Sam Cortello of Bridgeport, sister-in-law, Lillian Duva of Monroe, as well as his Aunt Elsa Cortella of Bridgeport and several nieces, nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, James and Dominic Duva and a sister, Anna Adintori. The family would like to thank the Vitas Hospice Staff, especially Troy, for the wonderful care given to Tony. We are especially grateful to Agnes, Marlena, Sophie and Vena for their wonderful care. Much love and thanks to his nieces Karen and Janet, who gave him great comfort and care. The last year would have been impossible without everyone's love and support. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial.
