Obituary of Richard J. Saputo

Richard J. Saputo, age 65, of Stratford, beloved husband of Donna Piccinino Saputo, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at St. Vincent's Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on December 13, 1950, he was a son of the late August and Doris Carbone Saputo. A U.S. Army veteran, Rich was the President of International Service Corp. He was a member of the Bridgeport Elks Club, was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan, coached Pop Warner football and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. But above all, his greatest joy and love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 38 years, Donna, survivors include two loving daughters, Dawn Schirizzo and Marcos Olivera of Shelton and Kara Rizzardi and her husband Greg of Trumbull and four cherished grandchildren, Gianna, Michael, Ava, and Sophia, two special cousins, Marie Gentile and Rosemary Sweeney. He also leaves to cherish his memory his father-in-law, Dominic Piccinino, brother-in-law Reverend Corey Piccinino, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers John and Joe Saputo and his mother-in-law, Frances Piccinino. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 3, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
