Obituary of Adeline I. Guzzi

Adeline Lombardo Guzzi, age 99, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Angelo A. Guzzi, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in New York City on January 13, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Agata Latargia Lombardo. She lived most of her life in Bridgeport, more recently at Spring Meadows in Trumbull and Smithfield Gardens in Seymour. "Addie" was a vibrant, active person serving as President of the Hallen School PTA, President of Our Lady of Good Council Parish Society, and was a member of the Council of Catholic Women. After raising her family, she went to work at the State National Bank where she held the position of Head Teller. She loved to sew doll clothes which she proudly displayed at many craft shows. In her later years, "Addie" enjoyed playing bingo at the Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Margaret's Shrine, St. Ambrose Church, North End Bethany Senior Center in Bridgeport and the Congregation B'nai Torah in Trumbull. Survivors include her four loving children, Anthony Guzzi (Ginnie) of Trumbull, Elizabeth Frillici (Donald) of Trumbull, Carolyn Tiernan (Terry) of Milford and Robert Guzzi (Gloria) of Park Ridge, NJ; a sister, Josephine Machalowski of Monroe, eight grandchildren, Anthony Guzzi (Laura), John Guzzi, Chris Guzzi, Michael Guzzi (Pasqua), Leigh Killian (Tom), Donald Frillici (Maria), Kelly Rinik (Dave), Kevin Tiernan, and James Guzzi, eight great grandchildren, Amanda, Sara, Dana, Luke, Alexa, Sofia, Deven, and Owen, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband Angelo, she is predeceased by her brothers, John, Joseph and Frank Lombardo, Joseph and Frank Scaduto, and a sister Nancy Intagliatto. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
